Here is a pair of women's earrings from Midyat in south-eastern Turkey, cut and soldered at the Nurtaş Gümüş bench. The ornament is drawn from a round face. The mesh is el örmesi hasır, a hand-plaited weave of silver strands, each row set by eye rather than by machine.
