Out of Midyat, the silver town of south-eastern Turkey, and off the Nurtaş Gümüş bench: a women's ring. Colour comes from ruby. The band is el örmesi — hand-woven work — in the Mardin hasır style, where silver links are plaited into a dense, flexible mesh.
