Alif Engraved Silver Oxidized Filigree Women's Necklace

A women's necklace worked by hand at Midyat Nurtaş Gümüş, in the old silver town of Midyat. It is telkâri — filigree in which fine silver wire is coiled and soldered into openwork. Its subject is the upright letter alif drawn from Ottoman calligraphy. Exact sizes and what is on the bench are listed on the workshop's own website, which is where orders are taken.
