Midyat Nurtaş Gümüş, a family workshop in the old silver town of Midyat in south-eastern Turkey, makes this women's ring by hand. The body is telkâri work, an openwork filigree of drawn silver wire that the smith builds up curl by curl. Its subject is a veined leaf.
