Midyat Nurtaş Gümüş works this women's necklace in its own workshop in Midyat, the town in south-eastern Turkey whose silversmiths have kept the trade for generations. The piece is shaped at the bench — silver formed, joined and filed by hand until the lines sit true. The stone set into it is zircon.
