This pair of women's earrings comes from Midyat Nurtaş Gümüş, a silver atelier in Midyat, the south-eastern Turkish town long known for its bench work in silver. The silver is worked by hand, its surfaces brought up with files and polish rather than machine finish. Zircon is seated in the metal.
