This pair of silver earrings is bench-made by Sümer Telkari in Midyat, the silversmithing town of Mardin province in south-eastern Turkey. Its telkâri work, filigree built from drawn silver wire soldered into open patterns, is done entirely at the bench. The setting holds quartz, as the workshop's own title states.
