Midyat Nurtaş Gümüş works this women's necklace in its own workshop in Midyat, the town in south-eastern Turkey whose silversmiths have kept the trade for generations. Telkâri filigree, in which thread-thin silver is wound into lace and fused, gives the piece its open, airy face. The motif is a drop silhouette.
