Midyat Nurtaş Gümüş works this pair of women's earrings in its own workshop in Midyat, the town in south-eastern Turkey whose silversmiths have kept the trade for generations. Telkâri filigree, in which thread-thin silver is wound into lace and fused, gives the piece its open, airy face. The workshop's own site carries sizing, weight and stock and handles every order itself.
