Hand-built in Midyat, the Mardin town known across Turkey for its silversmiths, this piece comes from Sümer Telkari. Telkâri, meaning filigree, gives the piece its openwork: fine silver threads curled and joined one by one. The evil-eye bead, a protective emblem across Anatolia, is worked into the piece.
