A Midyat-made silver necklace from Sümer Telkari, an atelier rooted in the silver craft of Mardin in south-eastern Turkey. The work is telkâri, the filigree craft in which hair-fine silver wire is twisted, coiled and soldered into open lacework. Floral shapes organise the surface, a staple of the local repertoire.
