This necklace leaves the bench in Midyat, a town in Mardin province long identified with worked silver. Its telkâri work, filigree built from drawn silver wire soldered into open patterns, is done entirely at the bench. Emerald supplies the colour against the metal. Remaining questions are best put to the workshop itself.
