Hand-built in Midyat, the Mardin town known across Turkey for its silversmiths, this silver necklace comes from Sümer Telkari. Telkâri, meaning filigree, gives the piece its openwork: fine silver threads curled and joined one by one. A stylised tulip, the best known of Ottoman decorative motifs, runs through the design.
