Telkâri — Turkish Silver Filigree

Telkâri is the art of drawing silver into hair-fine wire and weaving it by hand into lace. In Türkiye it survives mainly in Midyat and Mardin, in the southeast, where the craft passes down through families and takes years to learn. Nothing here is cast or stamped: every curl is placed by a person. These pieces come directly from the Midyat workshops that still practise it.
